Tuscan leather, burnished brass,
and the silence of the workshop
that no sound could ever imitate.
« Every bag is a
love letter
stitched by hand »
— Giovanna Corvina, 1962
Via della Spiga 19,
Milano — by appointment.
For sixty-two years, in our small Florentine atelier, nine master artisans have worked slowly. Every stitch is a thought. Every fold is a secret. A single bag takes fifteen days — and many cups of coffee.
We do not make merchandise. We safeguard a craft. Our leathers come from Tuscany, our brass from Piemonte, our silk from Como. All the rest is patience.
Via della Spiga, 19. Our Milanese salon — walnut boiserie, Fontana Arte lamps, three velvet armchairs.
Borgo San Jacopo, 42. The original workshop. This is where the bags are born — slowly, as always.
Via Margutta, 57. Tucked among the painters' studios — a small hidden salon, by private appointment only.
Leather is chosen by hand from four Tuscan tanneries. Only flawless pieces move on to the second stage.
Each model is retraced onto the leather in white chalk. No two bags ever come out perfectly identical.
Saddle stitch in waxed linen thread, worked with two needles at once. Four stitches to the centimetre.
Every bag carries, engraved inside, the initial of its maker. A signature that becomes a guarantee.
« True elegance— A saying of the Atelier, Firenze
never asks permission —
it arrives in silence,
and stays forever. »
Once a month — never more — a letter from our workshops finds its way to you. Stories of leather, of coffee, of working hands.
